The perfect Itinery

Hello, i wonder if any of you experts can help me?! I am definately going to book 4 nights in Vegas for my fiance and I as a surprise for his bday, (it will also be a year until we get married so extra special!) I am after the perfect itinery for those 4 days! I want to give him the intinery and his tickets in his bday card! I think i will book in the hotel Bellagio as recommended by an expert!

We are both 24, both love eating, sight seeing, not too fussed out gambling, basically we like sitting about in the day in the sun near a pool, then going for a nice lunch and then at night going to brilliant restaurants and maybe going to a few bars after. I think one of the days i would like to go book a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon.

So my question is... if you had 4 nights... what would your itinery look like? What are the must go to restaurants? What are the must see sights? What are the best hotel pools? I%26#39;ve heard that there is a river that goes through one of the hotels, is this true? Pretty please, could someone write me out the perfect itinery :o) Money is no object!!

Also, flights from London to Vegas, are they direct flights or are they connected?

Many many thanks!!

Lisa, there is only one direct flight from London Gatwick with Virgin Atlantic. If you look at LHR, then United are a good bet

Thank you for your prompt response! Thats great, i will book with Vigrin in that case then! Do you know the time different from Las Vegas to London?

thank you

Everyones intinery is going to be different plus some people are on lower budgets so there itinery would be extremely differnt when it comes to shows, restaurants, shopping and so on.

There are dozens upom dozens of top shelf restaurants in LV where price would make a big difference to many.

Your Hotel is one of the best in LV among a few others.

The best pool IMO is Mandalay Bay followed by others such as Bellagio, Wynn, Caesars, Mirage and a few others.

There use to be a river at the Luxor, dont think its there anymore.

The river your talking about is probably in the Venetian Hotel that has the Gondola rides, they are located on the upper level of the hotel.

You should ask a few question seperate such as where can I get a great meal at $100 PP, or what shows should I see for a fist timer and so on.

HI Lisa,

I am going to Las Vegas on my honeymoon in August and we were deciding between the Venetian, Bellagio, and Wynn and decided to go with the Venetian. I can%26#39;t give you a perfect itinerary since I%26#39;m not an expert but some of the things we will be doing include:

Going to see a cirque du soleil show (most likely ';O'; in the Bellagio in our case)

Going to voodoo lounge one night (in the Rio) - it is a bar on the 50th floor with great views of Las Vegas. Other bars with views include ghost bar which is in the palms hotel, mix lounge at mandalay bay - im sure other people will know of the others.

Seeing all the hotels - casino hopping - we want to spend some time just seeing the attractions (bellagio fountains, NY rollercoaster, volcano, etc)

Spend an afternoon downtown and see the fremont st experience and spend some time in the hotels there.

We are not really pool people so I haven%26#39;t dnoe much pool research but i think the one with the river you are talking about is mgm grand. We are staying here for our first night in vegas in a celebrity spa suite before spending a night at the grand canyon and then coming back to the venetian.

Anyway I%26#39;m sure others will be able to give you a more fixed itinerary.

Hi, I have been planning my trip and salivating over everything that we want to do for about 3 years! What I have learned is that my itinerary changes alot. :P

We are going in June and taking advantage of the great deal we got at Encore.

Originally I had planned for us to stay at Bally%26#39;s (accross the street from Bellagio), and hope to get a strip view of the Bellagio fountains. I was going to try the ';$20 trick'; and be really nice to the desk clerk, hoping to get a higher up room with a view, (though I have heard of people getting upgrades with this). This is the website I was to look at the postings of people who have tried this, along with percentages of how many times it has worked for each hotel: http://www.frontdesktip.com/

As for our itinerary, we were going to go to Bellagio Champagne Brunch (arriving on a Sunday) and a nice long nap after getting sloshed on all the free champagne!

That night, I really wanted to go to Mandalay Bay and go to the bar at the top (61st floor) called Mix. They have floor to ceiling windows, even in the bathrooms and was featured on some travel channel show I watched. Here is a description: http://www.vegas.com/nightclubs/mix/

--And here is a picture of the view from the balcony there: images.google.com/imgres…

I%26#39;d planned for us to get a coupon from restaurant.com for the Border Grill at Mandalay Bay --$50 coupon for like $2 or $3 bucks using a coupon code found on slickdeals.net. Border grill is owned by some ladies that worked for the Food Network and is basically Tex=Mex food. Looks expensive, but we were going to avoid alcohol (being hungover from brunch), and just order enough to make the coupon worth it.

Monday: Grand Canyon Deluxe with Helicopter Tour by Papillon. If you register for emails on their site, they will send you a coupon code for an extra 10% off. I booked for early morning, because I have read that things get really busy there as the day goes on and that there is a risk of tours getting canceled due to weather later on in the day.

Tuesday: Casino hopping! Be sure to register for the Player%26#39;s clubs at each casino. Here%26#39;s a list of some really great buffets: http://www.lasvegasdirect.com/topbuffet.html --But I wanted to try the Spice Market at Planet Hollywood.

Wednesday: Checking out Sam%26#39;s Town off-strip. If you get to Harrah%26#39;s on the strip, there is a free shuttle that takes you to and from Sam%26#39;s. The details are on Harrah%26#39;s website. They have really great craps odds and their buffet was featured on Rachel Ray%26#39;s ';$40 a day in Vegas.';

Wednesday night: Cirque De Soleil%26#39;s ';O!'; at the Bellagio. Front row and center, though I have read that front row is really too close, but I am excited anyway. They have some really good deals on tickets right now.

Thursday: Leaving Las Vegas, but not till late in the afternoon, so checking out Bobby Flay%26#39;s ';Mesa Grill'; at Caesar%26#39;s Palace. (Yes, we are big Food Network fans :P)

Ok, so that is it, but suggestions are always welcomed! (thanks for reading my really long post :P)

Wow!! Thank you for the recommendations guys, i cant wait to go i%26#39;m so excited!

I have a few questions... This might sound stupid but what is the NY rollercoaster? Is it an actual ride? Where is it?

The Bellagio Champange bunch, what does this consist of? free champagne is my kinda thing! :o)

What is in Sam%26#39;s Town?

many thanks!!

hi Lisa,

Sorry I meant the rollercoaster at NewYork NewYork (opposite MGM grand) - it is actually a rollercoaster which goes around the hotel.

There are also rides at the top of the Stratosphere hotel if you are interested in rides.

Quite a few of the hotels do a champagne brunch on certain days - I%26#39;m not too sure which ones are the best as i havent done much research on it but im sure if you type into the search bar many threads will come up about champagne brunches.

we are huge foodies and love to people watch and hang out by the pool all day. I%26#39;ll just give you our itinerary for this trip.

arrive sunday -- dinner at Stripsteak @ Mandalay Bay. We have a table at Mix Lounge reserved (1 bottle for 4 people, prices start at 250 a bottle).

Monday -- breakfast at Tableau @ Wynn. cabana by the pool. Eat lunch by the pool. Dinner @ David Burke @ Venetian. Drinks at Fontana Lounge in Bellagio.

Tuesday -- Shopping @ Caesar%26#39;s forum shoppes. Not sure where we will eat lunch. Maybe Trevi in the forum shoppes. Dinner @ Le Cirque in Bellagio.

Wednesday -- Cabana by the pool. Caviar service @ Petrossian Bar. KA show @ MGM. Gamble afterwards back at Bellagio.

Thursday -- Spa day all day. Dinner was at Joel Robuchon in MGM but we read his spring menu and opted for Alex at Wynn for dinner.

Friday -- Day at the pool. We usually eat room service breakfast before going to the pool and order a snack by the pool, however i always wanted to have breakfast at the Verandah at Four Seasons. You could try that one day? Dinner @ Picasso @ Bellagio. Drinks and gaming @ bellagio.

Saturday -- checkout day. dim sum @ Noodles in bellagio. gambling before we leave @ bellagio.

We usually see two shows, but this time we opted out. I love Mystere @ TI and Phantom of the Opera @ Venetian.

Prime @ Bellagio is a great romantic steakhouse where you can view the fountains and then we always have dessert and drinks on their patio after dinner. We had our wedding reception dinner here. It%26#39;s amazing.

First off if money was no object I would want a nicer hotel. If possoble a Skyloft, or at least Wynn.

Here is our 4 night itinery starting this Saturday:

Sat: Arrive at Four Seasons around 11:30 am. Check-in and maybe spend part of the afternoon at the pool.

Sun (Mothers Day): A light breakfast by the pool. My wife has an appointment at the spa for noon and will spend a few hours there and then probably take a nap. Then maybe back to the pool. Dinner will be rooms service.

Mon: Breakfast will be at Verandah or by the pool. Will have to leave pool ealry to make the 2pm meet at PH. Will probably spend the evening at Gold Coast with dinner at the Cortez room.

Tue: Breakfast by the pool. Mostly rest during the day. Early dinner at Kokomos and then Terry Fator at 7:30pm.

Wed: Breakfast at Verandah. Flight home at 1:45pm.

As you can see there aren%26#39;t a whole lot of plans here. The point is everyone%26#39;s LV trip is different, and every trip we take isn%26#39;t the same. We already have more things planned and reserved for our October trip.

Of course your trip shouldn%26#39;t be like this. You are going to want a lot more activity and a lot more running around.

Do some fine dining, but don%26#39;t forget to include a few fun places too. Like Margaritaville, or Toby Keiths, or Casa Di Amore.

And most of all don%26#39;t overplan. Leave some time to rest and relax too. You%26#39;re not going to do it all in one trip anyway, so don%26#39;t kill yourselves. Being a tourist is really hard work, especially in Las Vegas. Have a great time.

Thank you so so so much for all that really useful information!! I have a lot to go on and research here!! I really can not wait! Thank you all so very very much!! :o)

xx
