From Western PA flying into Vegas 10/10/09, circling Grand Canyon, then looking for a two night stay property around Vegas area, 10/15 in, 10/17 out. We%26#39;d be coming in from Zion, flying out late Saturday afternoon.
Casino is of no interest, we love the outdoors, I%26#39;d love boating/fishing exploring. The wife, an avid bird watcher, western states explorer. A Sedona/Yellowstone/Ouray/Moab type person, she hates shopping.
Suggestions for a two night stay?

My suggestion would be to stay in Boulder City since LV doesn%26#39;t seem to be your cup of tea. From this city you can journey on to Lake Mead National Recreation Area, you will need a car.

Maybe Mt. Charleston which is just west of Vegas. They have a lodge and a hotel.

Great place also. I overlooked Mt Charleston as a potential, was looking more at the boating and fishing thing.
And I was looking at the bird watching for the wife!
What about St George, UT? Its an hour from Zion and 90 minutes from Vegas.
What about Lake Las Vegas?
