We are staying at the Encore in October 2009. We have heard such bad things about the noise (mostly from the loud music) from midnight until after 5 AM. what floor should we stay on? Should we face the Strip or the pool? Is it better to stay in the Towers? Any other suggestions? Thank you.

Stayed there in February. Heard no noise. Panoramic Room 6018. 60th flr (really 50th). They don%26#39;t have floors 40-49.
Would suggest that you ask for a north face room, as opposed to the side facing the pools. My room overlooked the pool and golf course. Music loudness was HORRIBLE, could even hear the lyrics on the 35th floor. I can%26#39;t imagine how loud it must be inside the XS nightclub. I also would imagine the tower rooms would be quiet as they are higher priced rooms and they wouldn%26#39;t want to p$ss off those customers.
With all of the complaints maybe they will fix the problem by your visit in October :)
I have seen probably 3 or 4 posts regarding the noise at either Wynn or Encore, but when I actually talked to people that have stayed there .. they have no complains. I will let you guys know in my TR when I get back from the Wynn.
I am staying in Encore 12 June for a week so i will update you on my return.
We just asked for a quiet room away from the noise of XS. We were allocated a room on the 63rd, top, floor at the far end north facing so as far away from the noise as you could get.
They can%26#39;t ';fix'; the noise issure unless they close the night club. No noise rooms are north facing, any floor. No noise on that side. XS is closed Tues, Wed, Thursday nights; so stay than and it is a non-issue.
i would suggest asking for a room towards the tower end of the resort side if that is where you are staying. we were in rooms 5114 and 5115 last week and heard zero noise Sat, Sun, Mon from the clubs.
We stayed @ Encore Friday to Tuesday ie when XS was open. Our room was on the 9th Floor, mid floor %26amp; therefore close to the elevators facing the pool/XS %26amp; we heard nothing. At all. Ever.
