Golfing suggestions

Two average (handicaps 17 and 25)golfers heading to Vegas area in a few weeks. Looking for suggestions for courses we wouldn%26#39;t feel overwhelmed by their difficulty. Want to walk away not crawl away from the experience. Also we like courses that are picturesque. Thanks...

I%26#39;m in the same boat but not going for a few months. Would love to hear how you get on! Bali Hai is where I%26#39;m looking at but admittedly it does look difficult. Better hit the range!

You will need a car for any Vegas area course except Wynn or Bali Hai. That said, Paiute Sun Mountain from the white tees would work. Bring a 15th club, old 7 iron, for hitting in the desert. And do not reach into ANY plants to retrieve balls. Ever. Use a club. Cholla cactus, rattlers etc.

Bali Hai from the front tees is not tough due to adjoining fairways (not that common in the desert). But, unless you can play it for under $100, it%26#39;s way overpriced. $75 in the summer is topps.

We will have a car the entire four days so within a 20-30 minute drive and not looking for Bali Hai expensive either.

not too much info yet on the new course---';The Chase'; at Coyote Springs, but having just played it last week and having also played all the other pertinent courses Wynn, Bali Hai, etc I would HIGHLY recommend it.

It is 48 miles from Encore per my GPS but there is no traffic. They recently lowered the price from $175 plus $30 for required caddie to $100 for rounds teeing off after noon I believe.

This is one incredibly beautiful course, but not unplayable like Wolf Creek. We are all about 10 handicaps and played the whites. We like to play team skins, 2 man scramble in Vegas just to enjoy ourselves given the lack of sleep etc. Who wants to chase balls into the desert and shoot 95 with a hangover?

A couple hints about this course---they provide free Gatorade, Soda, candy bars in the clubhouse and in numerous coolers placed between holes. We brought a cooler with sandwiches from our hotel.

I played with a friend who is a course superintendent and he raved about the conditions, grass types, etc. It is really well manicured and maintained. The greens have some Augusta like breaks that I have seen no where.

Another course we have enjoyed in the past is Revere, either Lexington, or Concorde, which can be had at a discount via www.ezlinks.com. These are closer and have a nice view. You can%26#39;t go wrong with the Paiute%26#39;s another poster mentioned either. We enjoyed Bali Hai at twilite rate. Wynn is overpriced.

I really think you will be happy making the trip out to The Chase at Coyote Springs, we were.
