enoteca san marco at the venetian as bad as reviews?

Hello all,

We are going to see Blue Man Group at the Venetian and made reservations for Enoteca San Marco on Opentable .com before the show.

Wow ! should we cancel and eat somewhere else a the Venetian?

Any recommendations?

thanks to all

I had a pleasant experience there. It%26#39;s a casual restaurant, not fine dining, so the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed. I know that a lot of bad reviews come from those who disliked the pizza so stay clear of that. I thought the cheese, wine and appetizers were good, no complaints. My husband liked (but wasn%26#39;t wowed) by the pasta.

If you do go, i suggest that you buy a gift certificate on restaurant.com using the coupon code ';gifts'; for 70% off. That way, you can get a $25 gift certificate for $3.

Menu is sorta pricy, but I have never actually been.

I have read that there is very loud music playing all around you at the restaurant, which was sortof a turnoff for me. --But if you go, be sure to do a review to let the rest of us know!

No it isn%26#39;t horrible. It is not chain type Italian which disappoints some people. It%26#39;s fine. Some dishes are better than others like all places. It is impossible to know if you will like it or not.

There are many wonderful places to dine I like to try places for myself even if the reviews are mixed. How will someone else know what I will like? I just want to read some reviews from various sources, look at the menu, and give it a shot.

I am one of those folks who gave it a bad review...and and I was reluctant to do so. I really wanted to like the place as I am a big fan of Mario%26#39;s. But we were so disappointed.

It didn%26#39;t help that we had a restaurant.com certificate and got real attitude from the waiter about it. He told us (mistakenly) that we had to order over $50 worth of food. When I pointed out to him that that was incorrect, we got snubbed the rest of the evening.

The food was way too salty, service was terrible, bread was burnt (NOT %26#39;rustic%26#39;...I make bread and I know the difference!) but dessert was wonderful!

We had a very satisfying dinner meal there one evening. Ah, the joys of prosecco! We ate in the quasi outdoor area, exposed to the noise of the square. Luckily, perhaps, there were no performances going on at the time, so you might want to check the schedule if that sort of thing bothers you. Or you might want to try for an indoor table. No problems with the wait staff-very attentive and helpful. For pre-show casual, should be fine.

btw, the www.restaurant.com promo code is TASTY not GIFTS for 70% off GCs. A 25$ GC will cost 3$. I have no experience eating at this restaurant, though.

I have read tons of reviews that say Mario%26#39;s food is very salty no matter which joint of his your in. The repsonse was that he likes the food that way. I will be trying out San Marco myself first week of June and will report back.

My husband and I ate there last month, using our Restaurant.com certificate, and we both enjoyed our lunch there. We shared an arugula and parmesan salad and each had one of their Marguerite DOL pizzas. The pizza had very thin, crispy crust, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and a very tasty sauce. We were also served the toast wrapped in paper, but I actually enjoyed breaking off pieces and eating it while I was drinking my wine.

My boyfriend and I ate there last month and enjoyed it. I had the Pennette alla Norma and I thought it was quite good and my boyfriend had one of the pizzas, which he liked very much. The wine was excellent. The waiter made a great wine suggestion. I am planning to eat there again in July.

Oh I left out my favorite part!

I had the Arancine (risotto balls) as an appetizer and they were delicious.
