Casino ATM fees

Hi. I was hoping someone could help, as you guys have already been absolutely phenomenal with other questions I%26#39;ve posted.

Simply put: If I have an account with Bank of America (just using them as an example) and I use the B.o.A. ATM located *in* the casino itself, will I still pay exorbitant withdrawal fees?

Hopefully this isn%26#39;t a totally bone-headed question, but I didn%26#39;t know where else to ask this. :) Please forgive my ignorance.

I don%26#39;t believe (though I%26#39;m happy to be proved wrong) that you%26#39;ll find any ATM that%26#39;s located within a casino that will be totally free to use. Virtually all will have a $4-5 fee.

I wouldn%26#39;t think so. However, I%26#39;m pretty sure most of the ATMs in the casinos aren%26#39;t owned by any major banks. I don%26#39;t remember seeing any BoA, Wachovia, etc ATMs. Most of them are some 3rd party which probably gives a percentage back to the hotel/casino.

If you make a withdrawal just make it a large amount so that fee is a very small percentage.

I haven%26#39;t found the ATM fees to be unreasonable in Vegas. The ones IN the casino will be a bit higher. But there are ATM%26#39;s all over the place in Vegas, and with a little planning (i.e. ';I%26#39;m heading to a casino, and there%26#39;s an ATM here on the corner, maybe I should get some cash!';), you shouldn%26#39;t feel too burned.

There%26#39;s another simple way of looking at it: If you are a low low roller, playing 5 or 10 dollars on penny slots, then the fees are unreasonable. But on the other hand, if your playing that small, you shouldn%26#39;t be afraid to carry all the cash you need.

Conversely, if you%26#39;re playing $100 a hand table games, and spending several thousand dollars a day, then the $4-5 cost of an ATM withdrawal is pretty much a VERY reasonable convenience fee!

Are there BofA ATMs in Casinos? I always thought they were independent of banks ATM%26#39;s. If its truly a BofA atm then I wouldnt think you%26#39;d be charged a fee.

People make such a big deal out of these fees. So what you pay what?$6 5 or 6 times during your trip, That is only $30. Its better than the alternative and walking around with a wad of cash or trying to use cashiers checks or searching for your banks ATM.

The Casino ATM%26#39;s fees are rather scary. Dont withdrawl to you checkout the fee table. Walgreens,CVS, 7-11, on the strip will only cost a nominal fee of what you%26#39;d be used to paying for using atms out of your banks network. $3.00 is what i paid at 7-11.

I%26#39;m pretty sure the most I%26#39;ve ever been charged at a casino ATM is $5. Considering that I usually take out anywhere from 500-1k at a time it%26#39;s barely 1%.

You want to talk scary? Try using an ATM at a strip club. If I remember correctly at the Rhino, the minimum charge is $25 and goes higher depending on how much u take out.

Yeah strip clubs will get you. Also taking out cash on your credit card from the cage is what 10%?

We have learned to take blank checks to Vegas and we haven%26#39;t used an ATM in 3 years, I don%26#39;t think. We%26#39;ve gone to the main cashier cage at NYNY and the very first time took a little extra time (10 minutes, max) while they check your credit, etc. We got a several thousand dollar limit. We wrote a check for a couple of hundred. I think we went back a couple of nights later and wrote a second check and it took about as much time as if we%26#39;d gone to an ATM. No fees whatsoever - plus we could go to any MGM casino and our credit limit followed us. And when we went back the 2nd year, we were still in the system.

My husband thinks that our Players Card helped the transaction go faster, but I honestly don%26#39;t remember.

Most-if not all- of the ATM machines are non-bank machines. Besides what they charge- my bank adds on another charge for not using its machines. I have a car so I always use an ATM machine outside of a casino- in a bank.
