Bachelor Party Help

Got a bachelor party going on in July. And, wanted to know what the best place to stay for a group (between 25-30)? We are trying to keep it reasably priced at the same time not cram the group in one room...

Bachelor Party Help

Btw I was thinking about staying at the luxor.

Bachelor Party Help

Reasonably priced would be Exalibur or Luxor for sure. Also can save by not getting a suite, and 2 double queens rooms.

Surf the web sites to get a deal. It just depends on what the hotels are offering. Usually you can get a deal at Luxor, Monte Carlo (rooms are decent, good pool), and Planet Hollywood (great hotel for your age group, not a great pool).

Do your homework on line to determine the pros and cons and what%26#39;s right for you. This web site will access multiple web sites for you to surf deals. Some folks have mentioned they got great deals at Venetian with a promo code.

I would also look into Treasure Island. Last time I was there it seemed like a great place for singles and they always have specials for rooms.

Flamingo would be a good place for you, it has the central location on the strip, Margaritaville, %26amp; the best party pool, there%26#39;s 4 pools with water-slides %26amp; tropical setting + an adult pool as well. You would be close to all of the action %26amp; easy to get around on the strip in either direction to party. They have some Hot Deals that may help you out. Here is the website to check it out to see if it meets your criteria. www.harrahs.com click on LV then Hotel Hot Deals %26amp; on the website you can check out the pool to see if it meets your criteria as well.

If you stay at Flamingo get a GO ROOM becuase the ';deluxe'; rooms are a bit worn, if that matters to you.

Mandalay Bay, Mirage, and Treasure Island are all nice hotels and all have newley renovated rooms.

www.smartervegas.com has hotel specials directly from the Las Vegas area hotels. You have pick a hotel you are interested in and then click on ';book now'; to see if your dates of stay are available.

Have a good trip.

Casino Host

I have had the same casino host at Treasure Island for nine years and play the tables enough to get my room comped, she is leaving the business and has given me a recommendation for a new host at TI, but since the change in ownership I am considering a change to NYNY or Monte Carlo. I am looking for a name or recommendation for a host at one of these casinos.

Casino Host

I was under the understanding a host sought you out rather than the alternative, so its hard to recommend a host w/o knowing your gaming history (maybe you%26#39;d be an asset to my credetials) =) I cannot recommend a host based on the properties you listed, sry. =( I do however recommend HET hosts, in general, the greatest Ive seen by far! =)

Casino Host

';I was under the understanding a host sought you out ...'; wrong understanding

caddy08 - ask your host. They will know hosts at those properties, just as they did at TI.

Why switch?

Or pick up the phone and call the hosts at those properties. A name here doesn%26#39;t get you any more than no name here - your play history will drive what a host can do - they have very little discretionary comps available to most players. If you gambled enough to be in that category it%26#39;s doubtful you would be asking the name of a host here.

Talk to your current host.

How low a roller can you be and not have a host laugh at you for contacting them :-) I haven%26#39;t had anyone seek me out to give me things or try to pull in my business (but that sounds kinda nice)

I want my own host!

It is not true that a host always seeks you out.

If you wonder if you qualify, go into the host%26#39;s office and have them look up your play. They%26#39;d be happy to talk to you. They%26#39;ll explain to you how much they calculate - sometimes they can only take a meal off of your bill, but to me it%26#39;s worth the visit.

For them to seek you out on your current visit, they%26#39;d have to be aware of your play, know where you are (they can look that up by your player%26#39;s card) if you%26#39;re at a machine. Table players are different. The pit boss can recommend you visit a host, or perhaps have a host come seek you.

I have several friends you have hosts and none of them have had a host come up to them.

To the original poster, your current host can usually recommend someone even at a sister property. Many times they%26#39;re familiar with each other.

Ditto what Loveland wrote- may I add that it is better to go to the casino host area and NOT the MVP player%26#39;s desk- there is a difference. Make contact with a host and continue to see them. I have also had the same host at the MC even though he is now ';behind the scenes'; in casino marketing and not on the floor, I just call him before a trip and he takes excellent care of us.

J

Thanks for the reply lovinvegas. That%26#39;s what I have at TI now, a casino marketing excutive. She sets up our reservations and Invited guest checkin by phone before we get there.. She is leaving and set me up with someone else at TI, but said we might like to try Monte Carlo if we want to stay with MGM Mirage since TI has been sold. I have enough table play for comped rooms at TI and am looking for someone that would fit our needs at MC. I%26#39;m not a high roller but I play about four hours a day at the tables and some slot play, My wife also has some table and slot play. Appreciate your reply. Thanks

Hey Caddy08,

I don%26#39;t know about casino hosts...

But I LIKE your name!!!

Javarai,

Doesn%26#39;t sound like your any roller at all. I have always had host seek me out when I gamble. They don%26#39;t give away room comps at TI for standing around watching. Besides there are plenty of people out there with recommendations on different hotels, since I have been with the same hotel for nine years and have lost touch with some of the other ones.

Anyone use a wild card at Thriftys?

I am looking at rates here for renting a car next weekend for a week and saw this wild card for 131.00 guaranteed mid size or bigger so not sure what to do.

Anyone use a wild card at Thriftys?

Also forgot to ask what kind of credit card hold do they have? I am used to Alamo and not having any hold and tying up my funds haha

Anyone use a wild card at Thriftys?

I have used Thrifty many times, but never a wild card. I have ALMOST used it, but generally just took a lower rate on the car I wanted.

Are you using a credit card or debit card? The rules are all displayed on their agreement page. I think they SAY up to the full amount plus $200 or something like that, but I%26#39;ve never had my card declined and I usually use a card for car rentals that I don%26#39;t keep much free space on (a Capital One Platinum card that covers the damage waiver).

Rob

Did the rate include all taxes and charges?

No I just checked and it didn%26#39;t...sure adds up fast. Prices seem so high this time I think we may skip it and taxi or bus will be just as cheap splitting it

We did a Thrifty Wild card in Portland , OR a few months ago- and got the mid sized car that we would have normally gotten , just saved a few dollars off the listed price. The clerk told us they sometimes do put people in bigger cars but that day they didn%26#39;t need to.

Amazing about rental cars isn%26#39;t it- those taxes and other assorted charges are about as much as the daily rental fee they post by the time you%26#39;re done- especially if you rent from an airport. Our local Commission just turned down an extra $2/day tax on rental cars to help fund our light rail system..

I was looking the other day to arrange a rental in Seattle and on Hotwire they had posted $26.95, but when I clicked they said ';sorry, this rate has changed to $70/day'; and that was before taxes etc- it%26#39;s just nuts lately!

Anyway, we were fine with the Wild Card arrangement- it worked for us- we didn%26#39;t plan to be going far and having to buy much gas and figured it wouldn%26#39;t matter what car they gave us.

Hi

We did a wild card in February and they let you choose from 1 or 2 rows. The only ones they had at the time were PT Cruisers. We loved it. Nice and roomy and good on gas. I%26#39;d go for it again.

I did a wildcard with Thrifty at DTW last summer and got a brand new Dodge Durango SUV for a week. I%26#39;ll be doing it again when I go in July this year.

Yes, in San Diego. We got a craptastic Crown Victoria! Hopefully, you have better luck in Vegas. I always go with Thrifty (Blue Chip member) in Vegas and they seem to have really good (mid-size and up) cars.

Good luck!

every car is a wild car a Thrifty. sometime needs oil change, no windheild fluid once got pulled over because back break light went out.:?

I need some advise.

Ok so mom wants me to take her to Vegas, she is back from her winter escape and I promised her I%26#39;d take her to Vegas when she got back, sooooo... I did some pricing for a 2 nights in late June..

I found (through Allegiant), we can stay at Paris, with air for $420.00 total.

She said she wants to be on the strip and somewhere nice. SWA flights are about $180.00 rt per person( $360 just for airfare). So I think I%26#39;m actually finding a better deal with the package with Allegiant, but I am wondering if what else is out there, I%26#39;d love to really wow her and I don%26#39;t know if Paris is going to do that. I have promos for Palazzo and the V, do you think The P and V and a lot nicer than Paris (I have never stayed at Paris).

OY! decisions, decisions!

Tia!

Cathy

I need some advise.

Is the Venetian and Palazzo better then Paris?

I would say soooooooooo.

Wow her with a lake view room at Bellagio.

I need some advise.

Palazzo or Venetian

yeah, i think the rooms alone at V or P would wow her more than Paris. you can always visit Paris%26#39; casino, but personally I%26#39;d rather go ';home'; to a suite at V or P.

I would go for V or P. unless you can get one of those steals on a bellagio room. they sent me an offer for 89/nt on my players club card and i%26#39;ve maybe gambled 100 bucks there. LOL. do you have a players club card? have you checked that?

I%26#39;ve never stayed at Paris, but I don%26#39;t think you can go wrong with Palazzo or Venetian!

http://ebm.cheetahmail.com/c/tag/hBKAx0nB7bgTJB7gYi2-OmDZJOX/doc.html?email=pooka0214@yahoo.com%26amp;om_u=-OmDZJ%26amp;om_i=_BKAx0nB7gYi2jT%26amp;

I got this promo, which include breakfast and resort credit... 139 a night (weekday) for the Palazzo.

Is this decent? is there something better out there, that you can share?

I don%26#39;t have a players card for The P or the V, since I never gamble there (I%26#39;m a downtown girl!). I just signed up for their email promotions

So 280 (hotel)and 360(air) come to 640.00 is it worth 200 more for the Palazzo??? For 2 nights I don%26#39;t know if it is... for 200 I could take her to a show or a dinner.

Poolaloki, that%26#39;s a STEAL for the Palazzo! Before current events, I bet you wouldn%26#39;t have gotten that room for much under $200.

Paris is certainly fine; I would stay there with my lady. The Venetian/Palazzo is defintely a step (and a half) up, though.

Hmmm... well when you mention the $200 difference... yeah a Fremont Street Expert like yourself will be more than content at Paris... so will your Mom if she%26#39;s never been to Vegas (or at least the Strip).

I don%26#39;t know why the link isn%26#39;t clicky.. but here%26#39;s a c%26amp;p of the text

';From $139/nt - Includes Daily Continental Breakfast for two

and more than $150 in Resort Credits

Luxury Suite at The Venetian® or The Palazzo®

Daily continental breakfast for two

$40 off front orchestra seats at Jersey Boys

$25 off your bill at Dos Caminos

$50 off spa service at Canyon Ranch SpaClub®

Now I doubt we use a lot of the extras, but the spa might be nice for mom.

  • Going Vip

There are several VIP passes on ebay, that I have considered buying, but I am thinking that they are just free admission passes, and you will probably have to wait inline just like everyone else. Has anyone has any experience with these? Also, do anyone know of a company that truely does VIP, limo...walks you in....etc......that doesnt cost more than $300-$400. Thanks for all your help

    Going Vip

    vip = $$$

    Going Vip

Some work, some don%26#39;t, just depends on how busy the clubs are. I%26#39;ve used Ebay passes at RA, Coyote Ugly, and other smaller clubs and have skipped the line. But it is the bouncers discretion. Read the fine print, each pass has some sort of exclusion.

If you are looking for VIP at Mandalay and are staying there, go to the VIP services area and see if they can help. Used Mandalay for VIP table at Mix last year. No extra charge, just tipped the door man, hostess, and VIP services. The table charge depends on what type of alcohol and mixers. Total about 400 - 450 incl tip.

    Good luck.

Threr%26#39;s a few websites that offer True VIp services, not sure of the cost, but heres the websites

    lasvegasvip.net and vipvegas.com

    Vegas on the cheap...

I am part of a group of 12 lads who are going to Vegas in July for a stag do for 7 nights. Since booking it there are quite a few of the lads a bit on the skint side and we are looking to do things like eating and drinking some of the nights as cheap as possible. We are staying at the MGM grand.

They are planning on taking between $750 and $1200, so firstly is that likely to be enough to eat drink and be merry? Secondly do people have any recommendations for places to eat and drink which will be reasonably cheap?

I would guess there will be a couple of day trips so any can%26#39;t miss suggestions and what is best for a budget. I would guess there will be a good bit of lying about the pool during the day and partying at night. How do hotels e.g. MGM where we are staying feel about you bringing your own water, juice etc to the pool?

On a personal note I was looking to go diving in Lake Mead as I had heard it wasn%26#39;t too bad and I haven%26#39;t been for a while and this is my only holiday this year. How far from Vegas is it, is it worth it, how much would it cost and can anyone recommend a dive shop etc to arrange it with?

    Thanks

    Vegas on the cheap...

It%26#39;s possible to eat and have fun in Vegas on just about any budget. Dinner can cost you anything from a few bucks if you eat fast food, through to say around $30 at a good buffet through to over $100 per person at an upscale restaurant. Likewise with drinking. You can go to a top end bar and pay $10 for a beer or double that for a cocktail or drink $1 drafts at joints like O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s or Casino Royale. I%26#39;m sure people will offer lots of recommendations about places you should check out.

I believe that MGM is pretty strict when it comes to checking bags for drinks when going into the pool area.

Lake Mead is around 30-40 minutes drive from Vegas. I can%26#39;t offer any more help regarding the diving questions, sorry!

    Vegas on the cheap...

Thanks mate, all help is much appreciated.

Depends on how merry you want to be! ;-)

$100-$170/each/day should be enough. You may not be getting bottle service at the clubs, but you can certainly have a good time. MGM%26#39;s got a good assortment of food choices at all prices.

You%26#39;ll probably be walking the strip a lot, exploring in and out of the casinos, and you%26#39;ll find lots of cool, not overly expensive places. Rule of thumb, if it looks fancy it%26#39;s expensive. If there are loads of pretty, well-dressed girls, it%26#39;s expensive.

I%26#39;ve heard of people bringing their own drinks to the pool; as long as you%26#39;re not wheeling in a keg or a huge cooler, and don%26#39;t have any glass, you should be OK.

Can%26#39;t help with diving trips, but Hoover Dam (end of Lake Mead) is about 30 mins from the MGM.

You may find it worthwhile to invest about $15 USD in a copy (or possibly two) of the American Casino Guide, assuming it can be shipped over to Scotland.

It has quite a number of 2-for-1 and other discount coupons in it, that can save money on meals and purchases. There are also a number of gambling coupons, for Match plays and other types of bonuses. The biggest downside is that quite a few of the offers are for establishements that are well off of the strip, and for which you would probably want to have a car to get to.

Below is a list that another poster had put up a while back, that shows all of the offers in the 2009 version of the ACG. You can also go to LasVegasAdvisor.com, and look into their Pocketbook Of Values (POV) that has even more coupons and discounts, but costs somewhat more to join.

Do a search for happy hour deals and you will find loads of tips on cheap places to drink and eat. These will make your budget go a lot further.

Just to warn you if you are interested in going to nightclubs they are (judging by what i have read on TA) expensive. Going to a club every night will eat up a considerable part of your budget.

When you say the clubs are expensive how expensive is that roughly, both in terms of on the door and for drinks?

I doubt it will be every night at clubs with 12 scots lads I would expect us to drink ourselves stupid and not make it to clubs on more than one occasion, I would think maybe 4 from 7 out properly.

You may want to look into bottle service if you plan on going to the clubs, especially on the weekends. Getting 12 guys into a club is a chore, unless you have bottle service. It may work out better in the long run. You can negotiate with the host and if everyone throws in $100 you%26#39;ll have $1200 to work with for that night. You will probably spend $100 a person anyway with mix drinks costing around $14 a piece.

I know there are several promo companies that work with Voodoo Lounge. One of the deals is: This special includes front-of-the-line admission and open bar at VooDoo. Starts at 9:30 p.m. Shots and table not included - bar only. The open bar at Voodoo includes domestic and imported beer, wine, basic liquors (SKYY vodka, Cruzan rum, Sauza tequila, Jack Daniels, Crown Royal whiskey, bourbon and Christian Brothers), bottled water, soda and juice. Does not include red bull. You can’t go wrong for only $100 per person on Friday and Saturday and only $60 per person Sunday through Thursday.

There are several people on TA that have used this deal, but I can%26#39;t remember which company they booked through. Call Fidel at (714) 496-9999 or email fidel@SiennaEntertainment.com is one listed but I don%26#39;t know if anyone here has used him.

hi CF2010... you can have a great time without spending lots of $$.

word of advise - if you post a Trip Report, do yourself a favor and do NOT mention anything about tips you left.

I have seen on here some bars have happy hours and I think some have a all you can drink for a certain fee for a couple of hours.

    Christian Audigier $100 Bottle Service?

Anyone been there recently and have the details? Got an email about it (no details) about a month ago and no reply to my email to the club yet. Appreciate feedback if you have details.

If you do not have experience or details, please don%26#39;t bother posting (I know many posters do not care for the practice of bottle/table service). Thanks.

    Christian Audigier $100 Bottle Service?

www.yelp.com/lasvegas has many in-depth reviews for almost all nightclubs/bars/lounges, restaurants, hotels, shopping, ect. in Las Vegas. Just enter the name of the establishment in the searchbox to read reviews.

    Hope this helps.

    Christian Audigier $100 Bottle Service?

Oh and you probably have to buy a bottle at full price to get that or something. there is always a catch to these things. Clubs tell you anything to get you there, then once you are and they have your credit card then everything some how misteriously changes.

    Bottle Service

Does Bottle Service Price include your tip?

What else can anyone tell me?

Going to XS - Bottle Service is $450 a bottle min 2 bottles.

Oh - any idea what size the bottle is 26 or 40?

    Thanks!

    Bottle Service

No it doesn%26#39;t include tip. It is the larger bottle. Grey goose with tax came to $511 at XS. I was with 4 gals and we got away with one bottle on a Sun night.

I%26#39;ve bought show tix thru them for my trip in July. They are legit. Be advised that once you buy something from them, it is non refundable. They did refund me the $ for 2 tix for a comedy show because the start time changed after I bought the tix. When I could not make the new time the girl on the phone got a little tude when she could sell me anything else and hung up on me. The refund posted to my card in about 5 days. I found my best hotel/airfare deal at Southwest Airlines Vacations after extensive shopping. Plus it was the only nonstop flight.

    View Vegas.com

I%26#39;ve used them twice in the past for booking air/hotel and have had no complaints.

The only thing I have used them for other than the air/hotel was to book a shuttle to take us to and from the airport, again no complaints.

I used then once for a hotel. I found a better hotel deal but the hotel booked through Vegas.com was unrefundable. I haven%26#39;t booked with them since but I use their site for information on shows and such.

Thank you Leland512, Kdogg8 and Shrinkgirl. Your help is much appreciated. I seek information on behalf of my son who wants to book a ';surprise'; 30th birthday trip in April next year for his wife. We%26#39;re in the UK and all advice is most welcome.

    Thanks again!

    Club entry for guys

We%26#39;ll be heading to vegas for a bachelor getaway before one of us gets married.

What clubs (in what hotels) would actually allow us in without women. Any passes that might help?

We%26#39;d be looking to have a good time and meet other single women (most of us anyway)

    Club entry for guys

    Try Krave!!!! LOL ;)

    Club entry for guys

Full - that is funny but wrong.

    Can someone enlighten me?

    whats up with Krave?

and what clubs would do us well?

    How many guys?

I%26#39;m guessing Krave isn%26#39;t what you%26#39;re looking for.

Krave is a mostly gay club.

Any club will work for you because bachelor parties and guys ARE what makes money for the clubs. Guys will spend to go meet women. Get bottle service at a club you would like so you can get a table and not worry about it. Or get to the clubs early to avoid the lines.

From what I understand, Bachelor parties are exactly what the clubs DON%26#39;T want -- big groups of guys don%26#39;t bring other people into the clubs like big groups of girls do. That%26#39;s why I was asking how big the group was -- you%26#39;ll probably want to strongly consider bottle service, and that%26#39;s also a great way to get other women to come to you.

    3-4 guys.

what would be the best club where bottle service can be avoided?

If you want to avoid bottle service and get in easier, split up. Either go in individually, or as a group of 2. Find a couple girls who are on their own, or who have more girls than guys, and meet up with them. Offer to buy them a drink if they%26#39;ll let you walk in with their group.

So assuming we line up alone, what clubs are likely to let us in without too much hazzle

Jeevan you will more than likely need to get bottle service. For four guys it is not much if any more expensive than paying cover and drinks. You also do not have to wait in line which is not a great thing to do for a bachelor party.

  • Day and Night attractions

What%26#39;s best to see at night, and what%26#39;s best to see during the daytime? Some of the night time obvious are the Bellagio Fountains and Freemont street. Some on the daytime would be gardens and such.

    Day and Night attractions

It seems as though you answered your own question! LOL

Vegas is such a different place day and night. Especially some of the newer properties, that have incorporated natural light. Place like Palazzo and Wynn have a dramatically different feel day and night because of all the skylights and windows.

    Day and Night attractions

Daytime I love to go to the Mirage, and the Secret Garden of Siegfried and Roy, as well as the Dolphin Habitat. *yes, there is a charge* Also, wandering thru the Forum shops at Ceasars, or shops inside the Venetian...where it doesn%26#39;t matter if it%26#39;s day or evening. And lastly....The Bass Pro Shop at the Silverton. Love the big aquarium in the casino, and love wandering thru the store too!

At Night, Bellagio Fountains are always first on the list, as well as the racy little free show at the Rio, and Freemont street light show downtown.

I don%26#39;t think there are a lot of things that are divided into day/night. Most attractions are open until late at night. Some lounges- Dueling Pianos don%26#39;t get started until 9, for example-are only open at night.

If you must see the Siren Show at TI or the Masquerade Show at the Rio- go at night. But I wouldn%26#39;t really bother with either one of them- they have both become ';adult'; and are really, really lame and just not worth it.

The Mirage volcano would be another ';night'; attractions.

Daytime: Big Elvis at Bill%26#39;s. He doesn%26#39;t sing at night.

    Question about shows

I%26#39;m brand new here and heading to vegas for my first time on Sunday the 17th and will be there for the week.

I was curious as to if you can get into shows very cheap if your there when they start and they are not filled? Does that make sense? I%26#39;m cheap but want to see a few but there%26#39;s no way in heck I%26#39;m paying $150 for each ticket.

    Thanks

    Question about shows

Your best bet is to check out the discount booths where you can pick up cheap (many at half price) tickets. These are for that night%26#39;s shows only. They open at 10am.

    http://www.tix4tonight.com/

    Tix4tonight for Donny and Marie

Has anyone used Tix4tonight to get tickets for the Donny and Marie show? Just wondering if there was an opportunity to get the tickets at a discount the day of the show?

    Thanks

    Tix4tonight for Donny and Marie

The show only opened a week ago. Too soon to judge what discount ticket availability will be like once it%26#39;s been up and running for a while.

    Tix4tonight for Donny and Marie

    Hi

Does anyone know how long the show is expected to run?

    Clive

The initial contract is for 26 actual weeks of shows over a period of 8 months.

    Hi

    Thanks Blagger

    Clive

They have extended to one year and are in talks about a second. Advance sales are said to be very good.

I was actually there a few days ago. They were not advertised on tix4tonite or the other half price tix place. At least on Thurs, Fri, or Sat we were there didn%26#39;t see them listed for discount.

They didn%26#39;t have any early this week either.

I%26#39;m going to Vegas for the first time in a few weeks. I can%26#39;t believe the price of D%26amp;M%26#39;s cheapest seats are more than what I%26#39;d pay for a Cirque Du Soleil show considering that CDS actually puts your money to work with very elaborate sets and a large number of employees. (And even the CDS ticket prices seem like a rip off to me.)

In another forum, someone said they paid $20 to see D%26amp;M in Branson a few years ago. Surely this show has some cheaper tickets somewhere. I can%26#39;t stand D%26amp;M, but my wife loves them so going to this will be one of those nice things you do for your spouse, if I go.

Now that the show has been out a while, has anyone gotten discounted pricing for this show at all, anywhere?

    Wait a minute.

They expect us to pay to see Donny and Marie while in Vegas?

Shouldnt it be the other wayaround?

No discounts for D+M the past 2 weeks at T4T.

We paid $248 for 2 tickets and it was a great show, worth every penny and I was surprised at how much hubby enjoyed it.

slots 25 cents and under - which ones?

Lets say one enjoys playing for GnG (giggles and grins) %26#39;almost%26#39; as much as playing for the instant lotto type winning of more than you started with...

Which machines would seem to offer an equal amount of GnG as well as the ';';chance';'; to win ... say 100$ or so with 40$

Or another way of putting it - which would you play (not expecting to win big - big).. dropping 40 or so in each casino as one travels up/down the strip?

Mid June arrival - son%26#39;s 21st - he will be doing the WSOP thing - me? walking and looking and walking and looking - and don%26#39;t forget the 40$ contribution to Las Vegas each stop. =)

Wow, midsize for $178. Guess I should have gone in April!! :) Right now I can%26#39;t find an economy car for under $200 for nine days later this month. (I did try delta!) Thanks for the tip.

Try the Alamo corp id mentioned above - 7012298

PLUS one of the following promo codes - AU23310SU, AU2729MJW, AD5291JDS.

For rental cars I use Priceline and name my own price. It works great, and if they don%26#39;t accept your bid you can keep raising it until they do.

AU2729MJW code requires to present the coupon when pick up the car

any idea what coupon this is for?

    BEST cirque du soleil

for someone who has never seen a cirque du soleil show, what would u guys say is the best?

    BEST cirque du soleil

There really isn%26#39;t a BEST. What I may hate- someone else will love.

I would choose either Mystere or Love. Mystere has the most WOW moments of them all IMHO. It is a very ';typical'; Cirque show. Love is fantastic in every way- music, choreography, costumes, etc. Unlike most of the other Cirque shows- the emphasis is on the music rather than the actobatic feats (although they are there). O was fine but I didn%26#39;t think it was as good as Mystere or Love. I didn%26#39;t like Ka at all. The stage was great but the show itself did not hold my interest. Believe has gotten some of the worst reviews I have ever read -anywhere. I haven%26#39;t seen Zumanity.

My vote- Mystere or Love, for sure!

    BEST cirque du soleil

It%26#39;s hard to say what show someone is going to think is the best. They are all wonderful.

Zumanity is not your typical Cirque show. While it is very good, I would not recommend it for your first. It%26#39;s very sexual.

O is full of amazing tricks and lots of water tricks and synchronized swimming. So far, this is my favorite. It was absolutely beautiful.

Mystere also has lots of amazing tricks.

LOVE is great for Beatles fans because thats what the music is. I am going to see this in July so I can%26#39;t really comment on it yet.

KA looks amazing but I haven%26#39;t seen it.

Criss Angel Believe has been getting mixed reviews, but mostly bad. I have not seen it.

I%26#39;ve seen O and KA and my vote goes to KA. Just make sure you read over the outline of the story before the show.

    IMO and in order

    1 Mystere

    2 O

    3 Love

    4 Ka

    For me, %26#39;BEST%26#39; was %26#39;O%26#39;, then %26#39;Love%26#39;, then %26#39;Mystere%26#39;. I have not seen %26#39;KA%26#39;, %26#39;Zumanity%26#39;, or %26#39;Believe%26#39;.

I liked all of them. Mystere is probably the most typical Cirque show, and is the most similar to their touring shows. Because of this, I would recommend seeing Love or O, as you can only see something like them in Las Vegas.

    room rate article

Found the article interesting, but particularly the comment from Phil Ruffin.

    lasvegassun.com/news/…

“I’m not going to give rooms away. That’s a heads-in-beds philosophy,” Ruffin said. “I don’t want the $50 customer.”

Comments like that make me not want to return to Vegas, I loved my last trip to TI and ended up getting a room rate for about 50 dollars a night, no way would I come back after a comment like that. Does he not understand if people can afford the room then they are probably going to gamble more, spend more money on food etc...at least I know I did.

    room rate article

Ruffin%26#39;s getting ripped to shreads for that comment all over the internet. What a stupid, arrogant comment to make, especially the way Las Vegas has been reeling in this economy.

Oh well, Ruffin will be glad to know that there are plenty of casinos in Las Vegas that will take all those $50 customers he doesn%26#39;t want.

    Idiot.

    room rate article

Glad to hear that TI is no longer a part of the MGM/MIRAGE group. The new owner Mark Ruffin has much to learn. It is the average person that makes these casino go round. Ruffin can stick his hotel along with his comments where the Vegas sun doesn%26#39;t shine. A stupid comment to make and he will pay dearly for that idiotic statement. TI now stands for TOTALLY INCOMPETENT which fits Ruffin to a T.

Yes, He%26#39;ll find that he won%26#39;t have the people coming in after that comment, they%26#39;ll just watch the show %26amp; go to a casino who would be happy to get their money.

We have 2 night comp in June with $125 Freeplay, I%26#39;ll use it then play at another casino since he doesn%26#39;t want the $50 customer so we%26#39;ll play elsewhere %26amp; get our points for future Free stay or discounted rooms.

I am in Wichita(kansas)home of phil ruffin. His dog track(wichita greyhound park) closed down several months ago after the sedgwick county voted down allowing him to put in slot machines. He made some pretty bold statements about the voting and why he closed down the track; but nothing like this statement. I have friends who work for one of his manufacturing business here in wichita and they say he is very social to common folks for being a multimillionaire.? This sucks for him making that statement. Our friends have booked T.I. for this summer, but are very serious about changing their location after I had them read this article... BTW, they booked for $50 a night!! Swish for them!

    Darn you Mr. Ruffin.....

After reading the article and the comment by Ruffin, I cancelled my 5 night stay at TI for the second week in June and rebooked downtown...The Four Queens still likes my 50 dollars a night!!

Are you kidding me? I can%26#39;t believe people are so senstive. I%26#39;ll have to find the article later but hotels lose more money lowering room rates than having empty rooms. TI isn%26#39;t a $50 a night hotel and renting out below the value of your regular rate too much lowers perception of the hotel. I respect Ruffin for protecting his brand.

For a man who is loaded he aint very good at PR.

Oh well, Ruffin will be glad to know that there are plenty of casinos in Las Vegas that will take all those $50 customers he doesn%26#39;t want.

Your 100% correct let them all go back to Circus, IP, Harrah%26#39;s, Flamingo, Excalibur, Tropicana, Sahara and most of Downtown.

The only reason these $50 a night people are here is because of the deal they got, as soon as the rates go up to $75 a night they will leave and go back to all there low level places and eat hot dogs.

TI isn%26#39;t a $250 per night hotel, either. Don%26#39;t think he will do well just catering to high rollers. He%26#39;ll be eating his words!

I don%26#39;t mean to stir here but did someone say they gave up 5 nights at TI to stay at the Four Queen? And you all honestly think people are going to stay away from TI in droves because of this article? I just didn%26#39;t see what was so offensive.

    Tryst at Wynn?

Does anyone know if you would be able to get into Tryst easier if you are staying at the Wynn? Also how hard is to get into Blush? Not interested in bottle service by the way.

    Tryst at Wynn?

They CLAIM it%26#39;s easier if you%26#39;re staying there, but that%26#39;s kind of an intangible. If you aren%26#39;t getting bottle service, or some sort of VIP status for the evening, then your standing in a ';line'; with the masses. Perhaps staying at the hotel makes it a little easier to get on the guest list, but it%26#39;s not an automatic thing, where you show your room key and blaze on in.

As for Blush, that%26#39;s usually a lot easier to get into. With either of them, go early and you shouldn%26#39;t have too much trouble.

Do you have the code for this promotion.? The link doesnt come up.

    Free Buffet at MGM

Does %26#39;Daily access to the Grand Buffet for 2 people%26#39; actually mean free buffet for 2 or does it just mean preferential access (i.e., no queueing)??

Ha Ha. Never even thought of it that way. Hmmm. Always good to make sure.

wow, if that is true it would be an unbelievable deal...i went and just for the lunch buffet it was around $18

I have the same question re daily access. Everything else that%26#39;s free actually says free so I%26#39;m doubting that daily access means free! If anyone can confirm, please do so!

Normaly you have to pay to get access to the buffet. So, if it´s free you can eat....Think so...

    https:/…

This is what I learned. The Buffet is good for 1 day of your choosing and can be used multiple times that day.

But they say daily access and that means every day of your stay as far as i understand.

    Willi

I%26#39;ve just this minute come off the phone from MGM reservations and they have confirmed daily access means that for 1 day of your stay 2 people have have unlimited access to eat free at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This is an unbelievably fantastic offer and needless to say I%26#39;ve just cancelled my existing reservation and rebooked using this deal!

Thanks ever so much Wilma61 for letting us know about this one!

I called them about this and it is a free meal at the buffet once a day, breakfast, lunch, or dinner, each day of your stay.

I need a lot of help lol right here we go I am planning on taking hubby here as a surprise birthday present was going to take him last year but buried my brother on my hubbys 40th so this will be a belated 40th birthday present. First off want to travel on his birthday the 9th feb who would you book flights through and when flying from manchester looking for a good hotel in the middle of everything but not to expensive. How long is the flight from the uk and how many days do you all go for lol think I have covered most of it will think of excursions nearer the time. ty all who can help me #

ps how much would I be expected to pay for the 2 of us

    First time to vegas

I can%26#39;t help regarding booking flights. I%26#39;m sure UK posters will offer good advice. It may be better to post again with ';UK flights'; somewhere in your question to attract the attention of those who know best. A non-stop flight would be around 11 hours, obviously longer if you%26#39;re going to connect at another US airport.

Regarding hotels, you don%26#39;t need to really start thinking about this for around another six months, but to get a few ideas tell us (roughly) how much you%26#39;re happy to spend per night on a room. ';Not too expensive'; can mean vastly different things to different people.... :-)

    First time to vegas

Ty blagger will do that if get no joy with this post I am looking to pay æ‹¢600 for 10 nights for both of us am I being to mean or will we get a room for this

That%26#39;s about $90 a night so you should be able to get something pretty nice. Certainly a mid-range room like MGM or Monte Carlo. People on here have been getting some great deals at the really nice hotels so I would check back when you get ready to book.

Ty will do do we need to fill in visa waivers online and when would we do this

If you want to fly direct, and don%26#39;t mind 11 hours on a charter flight, Thomas Cook/My Travel fly from Manchester. Alternatively you could fly Delta via Atlanta, American Airlines via Chicago, BA or Continental via New York, or US Airways via Philadelphia. BMI stopped their service last month.

Try searching on www.skyscanner.net for flights as it shows both scheduled and charter - but charter flights aren%26#39;t daily so therefore may not be an option if you want to travel on a certain date.

If you time it right, expect to pay less than æ‹¢350 each for the flight.

Because of the length of the flight and jet lag, most Brits go for at least a week. It also makes the cost of the flights see a little less expensive if you are there for longer. Also, there%26#39;s so much to see and do that after over 10 visits averaging 10 days each, I%26#39;ve still not seen it all!

Most posters on here agree that it%26#39;s cheaper to book flights and hotel separately as the hotels have lots of promo rates which you can ask to be applied to your booking even after you have made the reservation. If you book a package, or book the hotel through Expedia or the like, you won%26#39;t be able to do this.

You will get lots of different opinions on here as to which hotels are the best value for money, but Bill%26#39;s seems to be consistently recommended (I%26#39;ve never been in) and is in a great location. Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, Ballys, Paris, Monte Carlo are all mid-range and centrally located.

    Hope this helps!

If you wish to enter the US under the Visa Waiver Program you must apply online for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

Any Strippers headed to the Nugget on Tues for the Mega Meet

I was just wondering if there would be any people staying on the strip close to each other who would want to try sharing a cab down to the Nugget for the Mega Meet on Tues? I%26#39;m at Signature/MGM and will be going down solo since my dh will be working. To all you LVer in the know, do you think it would be safe to meet up with someone you have never met to share a cab. Oppinions appreciated. I am a pretty adventurous person so calling all other strippers out there to see if we can match up rides. Julie

Any Strippers headed to the Nugget on Tues for the Mega Meet

There are quite a few people going to the Mega that are staying on the strip. You should post this on the Mega thread and I%26#39;m sure that someone will help you out. Don%26#39;t be afraid all of these people are very friendly.

Any Strippers headed to the Nugget on Tues for the Mega Meet

    Hi Julie...

I%26#39;m staying Downtown, but there%26#39;s a good sized group coming down for the MEGA. Some will be coming earlier in the day to meet up with us for lunch at Hennessey%26#39;s at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, June 2nd (you%26#39;re welcome to join us there as well) Some that will be coming early for that are firsttimer, and Harlemgirl, both of who post on the Strip Version of the MEGA thread.

You%26#39;ll probably get some answers here, but if you don%26#39;t, post the same question on that STRIP MEGA thread, and you%26#39;ll find someone to cab with. I know almost everyone out there who is coming. You%26#39;ll be safe with any of them. :-) Some of the other ladies who will be coming are teachersue, gabbygambler, malvlover, JackandSally, vadreamer. Love50 and her husband are also coming. I know there are more, but thats just off the top of my head.

Contact orangectyny also to let her know you will be attending, and she will add you to the group. Your name must be on a list to get in to the MEGA, since this is a private party at GN Rush Bar. :-)

    sheila

I misread your heading and thought you wanted strippers to perform at the MEGA! (I really need a vaca) LOL

%26lt;putting close back on, taking down pole%26gt; aawww she meant people staying on the strip...... lol

    clothes even....lol

LOL - Strippers at the MEGA?? I thought I was gonna be in a heap of trouble with DH, then I actually read your question.

Man, was I fooled by the title of THIS post! Of course I clicked on this topic in about .4 seconds!

Maybe next time, Low. At least you have more time to work on your moves. ;)

LOL, I figured this would be a gotcha topic. Still haven%26#39;t connected with any takers but guess the taxi cost is well worth the fun of meeting all you TA%26#39;ers. On a side note, my dh totally cracked me up with his interpretation of what TA stood for. Some how he got an ';and'; in there!!! I assured him he would fit right in!! Have a great day, Julie

Nice TR. We%26#39;ve always had good luck on the slots and VP at Flamingo.

Their buffet has always been bad, IMO, we do Harrah%26#39;s breakfast buffet instead.

One morning i was at the pool at 7:00 am they will let you in but no swimming till around 8-8:30 There will be a pool cleaner ther first thing in the morning I thik 6:00 am so your morning coffee, Or Beer can be had there in peace Pool gets packed by 10:30 am

    Hotel- Fairly clean

Bobo62, Did the hotel offer the GO upgrade for $20 a night? I keep reading/hearing that it is a $40 a night upgrade. I%26#39;m heading there in August so I%26#39;m curious about the $20 a night you paid.

Time of ufc event at MGM next sat?

Does anyone know how long the UFC events usually are for? We%26#39;re going on Saturday and I need to make dinner plans. Should we go before or after?

Time of ufc event at MGM next sat?

    bump

Time of ufc event at MGM next sat?

Never been, but wouldn%26#39;t it be determined by how many bouts there are and how long they last???? Like it boxing, it would be hard to predict based on how many rounds a boxer survives. Sounds like the PPV, based on googling, last 2-3 hours.

Agree that it will be determined by # of bouts and rounds. Just looking for an ';average'; time of the galas, if anyone have an idea.

I went to a show last year at the MGM...doors opened at 4:15, first fight around 4:45....depending on how the fights go...there is some down time....,main PPV card starts at 7pm, main event kicks off around 9pm.....could end at 9:01, could end at 9:30 :), then its a mad dash from the Grand Garden Arena to the SPortsbook to cash the winning tickets

    sensi at the Bellagio

    hello

Does anyone know where i can get a menu with prices on for this restaurant and are reservations a must?

    Thanks

    sensi at the Bellagio

Go to Bellagio%26#39;s web site under dining contemporary and you will fine the menu

    sensi at the Bellagio

You can view the menu on the bellagio website, as mentioned above, however the prices are not listed. All that I%26#39;ve been able to find out is the following:

Cuisine is simply prepared Italian, Asian, grilled and seafood classics, dress is business casual, and reservations are recommended. I did notice on yelp.com that there was mention of an Indian dish as well.

Lunch is served from 11am-2:30pm, appetizers are $10-$16, entrees $14-$22. Dinner is served from 5:30pm-10:30pm with appetizers from $12-$18 and entrees from $22-$42.

They have an extensive wine list with emphasis on wine from the Southern Hemisphere, particularly Australia and New Zealand. From what I have read prices are marked up considerably with most running $15 a glass.

Apologies for not being able to provide more info, I%26#39;ve not eaten there, but the menu looks and sounds good.

    thanks for that

we have eaten there before. it was pretty good. the service was SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW and they brought out an entirely wrong dish for my husband than what he ordered. however, i can%26#39;t remember exactly what they did to compensate, but i know it was either a new dish or comped that dish. i can%26#39;t remember. but we weren%26#39;t unhappy, it just took forever to eat there and there were only 4 of us dining.

i wanna say it averaged with drinks, apps and meal around 75-100 pp.

    Palazzo with family of Venetian

Looking at either of these properties. Staying in Palazzo Bella or conceige or at the Venetian Bella or Rialto. Wanting to be close to food accommodating family needs not higher end classy places. Older children so not toddlers but reasonable dining. Also where is the rock climbing wall? If staying at Palazzo is the venetian a short walk for breakfast etc. Can%26#39;t function without food and a cuppa in stomach but don%26#39;t want to be walking foreveer - heard that the Venetian has better food outlets (Cheaper) the only other issue I have is the scent and believe that the Venetian is stronger than Palazzo. My daughter has some allergies and thought may be better to stay at Palazzo altho I%26#39;m feel Venetian will suit our needs alittle better. But if the distance between the two properties isn%26#39;t that much will probably consider the Palazzo due to this fact. Any help appreciated

    Palazzo with family of Venetian

You%26#39;re going to have a fair degree of walking wherever you stay in Vegas. The distance between Palazzo and Venetian isn%26#39;t far (relatively speaking) and I can%26#39;t see you having any problems staying at Palazzo and eating at the Venetian. Neither place is really that great for casual dining but there are other options such as Fashion Show Mall close by.

I believe that the Canyon Ranch spas at both Venetian and Palazzo both have the climbing walls. Be aware that there%26#39;s possibly a minumum age to use the facilities so I don%26#39;t know if it will be ok for your kids. It%26#39;s not really cheap entertainment either at $40 per day though there are discounts for 3 and 5 day passes.

    Palazzo with family of Venetian

I would probably opt for the Venetian since there are many casual places to dine on the upper level, while both places will suite your needs the Venetian will give you more to do. I really believe this scent thing has been way over done.

The Venetian also or did have last time I was there have a food court.

Would kids be allowed at the casino level food court since it%26#39;s open to the casino and not an enclosed restaurant?

They are connected by a walkway - just a few hundred yards at most entrance to entrance. Many cheap dining options at Venetian - 2 food courts, a small one casino level (as you enter V from P it will be on your left across from the Grand Lux towards the front desk) and another on the mall level, which can be reached from the P from either level.

Both have a Grand Lux, table service, which is cheap-moderately priced (burgers, salds, etc - look at the menu online), a chain with a large and varied menu that appeals to many families.

The rocking climbing wall is in the spa fitness area of The V, one spa shared by both properties, 2 fitness areas - requires a minimum day pass.

P a little easier to exit and enter self-park if you are driving.

The distance between the 2 isn%26#39;t enough to be a major factor in your decision. P closer to Wynn and the mall. I don%26#39;t notice the scent, others do, many think it is not as strong at The P.

You can use all the pools no matter where you stay.

';Would kids be allowed at the casino level food court since it%26#39;s open to the casino and not an enclosed restaurant?';Sure children are allowed. The food court is not the casino - just as in any property with a restaurant near the casino. The food court is more enclosed than say CPK at Mirage and many others around town.

Maybe I%26#39;m in the dark on this one, but I was under the impression that Palazzo had its own Canyon Ranch Spa Club. I thought they were only sharing the one during the first couple months- like they did with the pools before Palazzo%26#39;s pool deck was done.

Can someone confirm that there is, in fact, only the one Spa facility?

mgg, I thought that too (see my previous post) but, as usual Bridgey is correct. There is just the one facility.

    canyonranch.com/spaclubs/las-vegas-about.aspx

    Apologies for any confusion..... :-)

Wow, I wonder if they expanded the existing facility. I would hope so, because one of my few complaints about Canyon Ranch was that it was a little busy. I can%26#39;t imagine what it must be like with a couple thousand extra potential customers!

Thanks for your thoughts. Another option also is to stay in a suite on the conceige level. Has anyone used the Palazzo Conceige lounge. Just thought that this would be good for breakfast and late arvo drinks. It is alittle bit more so is it worth the cost. Bear in mind that there are four of us in the suite so may be better value than only having two people. My sons 16 and can eat plenty. Also by doing conceige does this guarantee you to be on the upper levels of the hotel in Palazzo. With respect to the Venetian i think that the conceige is a fair bit away from everything so probably wouldn%26#39;t do conceige there. So in saying all this would it be better to do Palazzo conceige that way not far to have breakfast before heading out or staying in Venetian which would be closer to food court/breakfast and slightly cheaper too. That damn scent does worry me tho-hmm

We have stayed at both P and V and in both Concierge Levels as well. I personally enjoy the more intimate V Concierge Level but heard a rumor it was closing. I am not sure about this however as my last stay there was in November 2008. The P Concierge has much more to offer by way of food in the am and pm but reminds me more a a hotel bar than lounge. as for walking, I find everywhere is a trek so for us, it is a non issue beacuse of the distance to everything from everywhere. Enjoy your trip!

Which property treats their vp players the best?

liked the idea of the 21 thread and had the same question regarding vp. not saying i%26#39;m going to play for comps but it would be nice to get free rooms and i%26#39;ll be gambling anyway.

i%26#39;ve been playing at venetian and get the basic 2-4 comp nights but they don%26#39;t have much of a variety with good pay tables. palms have many but don%26#39;t know much about their comps/players card. thanks.

Which property treats their vp players the best?

    bump

Which property treats their vp players the best?

If you%26#39;re playing VP at the Venetian, you%26#39;re already used to getting screwed, so you can pretty much go anywhere else you want and get treated better. Venetian is now $21/point for any video poker game close to break even, and something like $14/point for most of the rest of the playable-if-you%26#39;re-drunk-or-tired games. At $21/point, that%26#39;s over $500,000 coin-in just to get a Gold card there. As well, the theoretical on the 9/6 games is supposedly now set to 99.54%, which means they assume everyone will play perfectly (which most do not), or you%26#39;re getting screwed there, too.

    Anyway.

Palms is probably your best in terms of over-100% play, if you can find a seat there. Harrahs still comps video poker the same, though there are a few machines in Atlantic City that they doubled to $20/point, which sucks. I%26#39;ve never gotten ANY kind of mailers based on my VP play at Wynn, though admittedly it hasn%26#39;t been much.

I typically play just-under 100% games, and MGM properties have always been the best for me in terms of video poker comps. At least for right now, they don%26#39;t seem to base their comps on theoretical win, only on coin-in of the specific machine, which works great for nearly break-even games.

VP is still 10/point at Harrahs AC. Was just there May 8-10 playing dollar 9/6 so I am very sure it was just a rumor, based on the one row of 4 machines at Bally%26#39;s, they are triple play dollar 9/6, and are 20/point, but they are very well stickered saying it so there is no surprises! Every other VP in AC is 10/point.

There is really no place on the strip in Vegas that has full pay VP and is generous with comps. There are some limited 2 and 5 dollar full pay machines, but comps are not great.

Off-strip, I really think Station casinos are good. Plenty of full pay in all, with free rooms and meals comped every stay with minimal play at SS, and moderate play at Red Rock.

Palms does have full pay, but I am not aware of how they comp people who only play good VP there.

Venetian/Palazzo remain my strip fav%26#39;s, decent 7/5 Bonus at the bar, and it%26#39;s actually just 3 dollars in for a point, not 14. The 21/point is for the full pay, so bartop is still 3/point. I have no idea what the tier 1 and 2 VP is, the Club Grazie rep said it was for some 3/play/5play machines, and some of the multi-strike ones, but I didn%26#39;t play them, and bartop VP for gold was accruing at 2.50/point, 3 for grazie.

One of my other places I really like is Bellagio, for the feel of the place, not great VP or Comps. They also have 7/5 Bonus at the bar, but over 10K in action did not even score a room, just casino rate.(89) The host said to ask next time if I have over 9000 points a day, which I will never have...... The same 10k in action on the same 7/5 bonus machines at Palazzo gets 2-4 free suite nights, about 100 in food comps off the bill too, so frankly I feel like Venetian/Palazzo were not screwing me at all, but MGM owned Bellagio was, just to give another viewpoint comparing similar coin-in, and what to expect in general. The 10K a day in action in any HET property will get you great room and comp offers, I have literally stacks of free junk mail that will not be used.....

My mailman must think I have a real gambling problem!

thanks for the replies. i really like the venetian suites so getting them comped isn%26#39;t what i think of %26#39;getting screwed%26#39; means. i think i just realized that i%26#39;m happy in this situation haha. i don%26#39;t pay attention to coin-in/points because i just want the free rooms. if i stop getting them, i%26#39;ll probably try out some mgm properties but guess not bellagio.

does anyone have info on how palms treat their vp players, personally? i know i can just call but i like hearing people%26#39;s experiences and stuff. thanks

I have to agree with Moneybagz. If you enjoy where you are staying, and still getting free rooms, you are not screwed! But, I understand wondering if there is a ';better'; option.

If it%26#39;s full pay you really want, then off-strip may make you happier. If it%26#39;s strip location, great comped rooms, that you are really wanting, the Palazzo/Venetian is a good option.

Frankybarb, I did mention that only some of the machines at Ballys AC are now $20/pt -- the 3-play and 5-play, specifically -- but with them doing that, I%26#39;m wary that they may be moving in that general direction for near break-even paytables, much like Venetian has done.

Here%26#39;s the list of Venetian machines and their tier levels:

    venetian.com/uploadedFiles/…PokerMachines.pdf

7/5 BP is indeed still on their regular point system, and that%26#39;s still a 98% game with perfect play. That%26#39;s an expected loss of $200 per day. I%26#39;d rather pay $125ish for the room and head over to Palms to play 100.76% DW, with an expected return of $76 on that money. :)

    Spa at Caesars?

Hi, has anyone ever used the Spa at Caesar%26#39;s? If not, are there any other Spa%26#39;s that you would recommend? I%26#39;m not looking to spend more thant 300-400 dollars, just a little something to pamper myself while on vacation. I%26#39;m open to any treatments (massage, facials, etc)

    Thanks!

    Spa at Caesars?

Qua at Caesars is great, up there with the best two or three in Vegas. You won%26#39;t be disappointed.

I also like Bathhouse at THEhotel and the spa at the Ritz Carlton (Lake Las Vegas).

    Spa at Caesars?

I%26#39;ve been to both Qua (2 times) and Encore, both were wonderful. The facilities at Encore are a little but nicer but Qua had more. The prices are comparable.

whats the first thing you do?

Ok so the planes landed, you have checked in, unpacked and now your ready.

Whats the next thing you do, do you hit the blackjack, slots or maybe hit the bar for a few drinks???

whats the first thing you do?

I normally have to pee =)

whats the first thing you do?

    Get a drink.

    Start gambling, of course!

DW and I usually head up onto the upper patio at Margaritville for a few drinks. This time, we may checkout the new Sin City Brewery bar at The Flamingo before heading to M%26#39;Ville.

Get a drink, then head to the ABC store for water, alka seltzer, vodka and mixers for the room. Then probably make a drink with the just purchased items for the walk back to the room.

Head downtown......first night tradition and flying Allegiant we never arrive until late afternoon.

Perfect Margarita at Margaritaville...Then to store to buy water and Rockstar!!

Grab a mimosa, and find a slot to occupy me until Mon Ami opens up for lunch.

We always hit the bar for a few drinks and we like to grab a seat and just spend a few moments to soak it all in!!

One week to go! Roll call for Memorial weekend

Hey there lady gaga , I will be headed to MDW 09 as well. Staying at the Wynn, and will be at Wet Republic on Saturday for Roger Sanchez. Then at night, I will probably take it easy at Tryst. Sunday it will be Rehab, and Sunday night I m debating on the Bank(Tiesto) or Tao.

Driving back to Socal on Monday.... might stop by Wet Republic if I m really feeling it. We will see..

yeah i hear u! Milw weather is terrible. I really want to be outside most of my trip. Yeah wet republic on friday has Kendra from GND so that will be fun. I wish I could see Tiesto at Jet on Sunday! That would be fun but yeah I will be home already by then....

Aww thats too bad. I would say Saturday/Sunday is more happening then Friday sometimes. A lot of people are still getting in town on Friday and just sleep in..

Who is Kendra anyway? Is she a DJ?

Sorry to hear about that Milwaukee weather. I got some time to get a primer tan on the beach before I head out to Wet Republic :)

We%26#39;ll be there Fri-Mon Memorial Day weekend :-) So excited!

    We will be there Sat-Tues!

    Hotwire - star rating???

Has anyone seen a Hotwire LV listing for a 5 star condo (center srip). What condo%26#39;s??

    Hotwire - star rating???

Perhaps a little liberal with the definition of condo but I%26#39;m pretty certain that would refer to Trump International.

    Hotwire - star rating???

There have been reports of Wynn and Venetion coming up under condos in hotwire recently, but if it does NOT have a casino icon under the listing it is definiely Trump.

    Maybe

Hilton Grand Vacations Club at the Flamingo

    since it%26#39;s center strip.

When I used Hotwire in January, my 5 star, center strip condo was the Trump. I really enjoyed my stay there, for what it%26#39;s worth!

That is the Trump for sure.

Thanks all..I would not be dissapointed with Trump...especially because of the late (4:00) checkout. ';Center Strip'; a little deceiving though :0(

On Hotwire, the 5 star condo is the Trump and 5 star hotel is usually the Wynn and sometimes the Venetian.

  • Wynn-Check in Time Question

I know the standard check in time is at 3pm. I was wondering what the earliest check in time would be? Have anyone ever requested an early check in at the Wynn or Encore?

    Wynn-Check in Time Question

oops that sounds bad, meant to say *has

    Wynn-Check in Time Question

Hotels will invariably let you check-in at virtually any time of the morning but just whether your room will be ready is impossible to predict. No two days are the same. I%26#39;ve checked in Vegas hotels at 10am and been in my room straight away but on other occasions have checked in at 2.30pm and had to wait 30 minutes for my room.

    Hi Royale11,

We always arrive on a Sunday morning. 10:45 am to be exact and have never been able to go straight to our room. We check-in, drop off our bags and head straight to brunch. They usually give us a call around 1:30 to 2:00 to let us know our room is ready. You don%26#39;t say if you are on the resort or tower suites. My experience has been on the tower suites.

    Hope this helps you.

royale, every time I%26#39;ve stayed at the Wynn my room was ready at the earliest 2. But I arrive on Sundays and that is a busy housekeeping turnaround day. Blagger%26#39;s take is correct. And you can%26#39;t request early check-in. Late check-out yes. I also stay in Parlors which are bigger and take longer. A regular room on a Monday may be ready at 10 AM. Good luck.

We go during the week and are always able to check in when we arrive around 11:00AM. If we%26#39;re ever told that the room isn%26#39;t ready, we%26#39;ll just drop the bags at the bell desk and have some fun while we wait.

We stayed at Encore in March. Arrived around 11 am (Iremember check out line wasn%26#39;t too bad at the time but an hour later there were significantly more!). Took a cab there, and was advised by bellhop to leave the bags with him as it was kinda early to hope for a room. We then proceed to check-in and sure enough there was a room ready, so we had to return to the bell hop to retrieve our bag. Murphy%26#39;s Law of Early Check In - I guess we were very lucky! That was the start of our very lovely stay.

Now that I think about it, there were 2 ladies checking in before us and I remember the Encore lady saying to them as they were moving away from the counter, we%26#39;ll call your cellphone when your room is ready, so we were pleasantly surprised not to have to wait - heck, 4 hours early is worth something especially at the price they charge for ice LOL. We didn%26#39;t request an early check in but we specifically requested high floor (had read about noise issues), non smoking,1 king bed.

Depends on the day. Wynn is almost always fully committed on Fridays and Saturdays. So weekend check in won%26#39;t usually be early. On the other hand, I have arrived there as early as 9 am on weekdays and gotten my room. If it%26#39;s ready, they%26#39;ll give it to you. And if not, as someone mentioned, they%26#39;ll take your phone number and call you when it is.

Thanks for everyone%26#39;s contribution! Now I can plan my arrival a little better. I m going to make a few stops before I check-in since the chances are that it wont be ready by 10am on memorial day.

So someone mentioned a late check out. Check outs are already 12pm.. how late can you be without being charged an extra night? I am curious...

You can get as late as 4pm, but they are given out like comps, and they tend to be pretty stingy. Much like check in, it all depends on how busy they are. If you are checking out on a day where they were fully committed the night before, and they are fully committed that night, then it can be tough.

I have received it twice at Wynn, based on my play, and other times have been told no. Additionally, it is a guaranteed perk with some premium booking packaged (i.e. fine hotels and resorts by American Express Platinum), so depending on what%26#39;s been booked, there are only so many of those late checkouts to go around.

A tip for you: If you can%26#39;t get late checkout, ask for a spa pass. I have done that on occasion too! I throw whatever I%26#39;m going to want for travel or the rest of the day in a locker, leave the rest of my baggage at the bell desk, and then go on with my day. Before I leave, I can go to the spa, wash up and prepare for travel. Then I just take the small bag from the spa and stick it in my luggage when I retrieve it from the bell desk on my way to the airport!

Ah thanks for the pointer! A spa pass is better then nothing.. I will be driving back, but maybe spending more time at the hotel will allow me to miss that morning traffic.
